Audronis Gulbinas, who had driven front-wheel drive cars throughout his career, took a bold step by moving to a much more serious car. The VW Polo N5 came to Audronis from Giedrius Firantas, who had purchased the championship winning Polo from Nedas Radišauskas. This time, another LARČ5 title for this car was determined less by speed and more by Audronis’ experience. When competitors made mistakes, the crew from Kaunas, with over 20 years of racing experience, consistently collected points, and at the end of the season the calculations were in their favour – having accumulated 113.6 points, Audronis and Vytis became LARČ5 champions.
